The purpose of St.
Rose of Lima School is to develop the whole person through a community
experience of faith and life.
Within
a Catholic Christian community all students learn to respect all forms
of life. Our aim is to imbue each student with an awareness of the value
of responsibility to oneself and others. Each is challenged to use his
or her special gifts in the service of all God's people.
The
threefold aim of Catholic Christian education is to teach doctrine,
build a faith community, and serve others. In accordance with this aim
we treat each student as an individual to be challenged to the maximum
of his or her potential.

It is important to the administration and faculty of St. Rose of Lima School that the children develop a love of learning which will create life-long learners. Our goal is to successfully prepare our students academically and spiritually to face the challenges of their world and by using the higher order thinking skills they have developed through their education to successfully change these challenges into opportunities for continued growth and development.
High academic standards are encouraged. Standardized testing has indicated student success. Seventy percent of the student population in grades 1 through 7 scored in the top quartile in the total battery of testing (CTB Terra Nova) conducted in March 2005. Forty-three percent scored above the 89th percentile, designated as "High Achievers" by Terra Nova. The eighth graders receive a variety of scholarships and awards as they graduate. They continue their education in Catholic, private, and public schools. The majority of students continue on to complete college degrees.
The greatest strength of St. Rose of Lima is that there is a continued evaluation of the program of studies to insure that it is developmentally appropriate, academically challenging and grounded in spirituality.
