St. Rose of Lima School offers a program of extra-curricular activities designed to create a well-rounded experience for the students. These activities foster creativity, develop self-awareness and promote social maturity and individual responsibility. In addition to encouraging academic growth, these activities also provide a vehicle for service to school, parish and community.
Academic Programs: Forensics, Solar Sprints Science Club, Yearbook Staff, School Newspaper, Student Council, COOP Preparation Class, Science Fair, Participation in the Johns Hopkins Gifted and Talented Program and the National Latin Exam.
Athletic Programs: Cross-Country, Track and Field, Basketball, Soccer, Wrestling Clinics, Golf.
Performing Arts Programs: Band, Choir, Spring Musical Production, Reader's Theatre
Student Cultural Assemblies: Shakespeare Residency; Festival of the Woodwinds; Gymnasium Geography; "Meet the Musicians" featuring pianist and actor Dennis Kobray; "Character Magic" by Patrick Ireland, producer and star of the PBS educational series "Weird Science"; "Poetry in Motion" by David Zucker, National Young Audiences Artist of the Year.
After-School Enrichment Programs (Open to all students): Yoga, Ceramics, Science Adventures, Knitting, Fencing, Cooking, Pottery, Cheerleading, Arts and Crafts. In the past we have also offered Tae Kwon Do and Digital Photography.
Community Service Programs: St. Jude’s Math-a-Thon, Holy Childhood Association, Thanksgiving Food Baskets, Christmas Gift Giving programs, Monthly Dress-Down for Charity Days to support programs such as Several Sources, St. Peter’s Orphanage, Disaster Relief programs.
